The girl is crafty - she knows all the moves. I started playing records - she knew all the grooves.

Quick Hitters and Random Thoughts

--Molly Shannon to Glee?!

--Breaking Bad is still more than a month away from returning, but next Wednesday a 53-foot bad boy Breaking Bad RV will be at the Galleria to get the show some much needed publicity. Show returns on the 21st of March with a mini-marathon a couple of days before that. I highly, highly recommend you watch the first two seasons. The first season is kind of short because of the writer’s strike, but it grabs you in the second season and doesn’t let go.

--No comedy has more consistently knocked it out of the park this season than Modern Family. Hello my name is Clive Bixby.

--I’ve only seen one Cirque show, but Beatles Love is out-f’n-standing. Showtime has been showing (in addition to being On Demand) the making of Love, All Together Now. Good stuff. Interesting how it all came together despite having to appease so many entities. Can’t wait to get back out to Vegas. Ten months between trips is too long. Vegas boxing trips courtesy of HBO were so easily the best part about working at the CPOD.

--Dumbass of the Week is John Mayer and it’s not even close.

--The headlines say “Food Network Star Arrested”, but c’mon. First of all no one watches Worst Cooks in America. It’s a stupid idea of a show. Second of all the guy was arrested on a routine traffic stop because of a couple outstanding traffic warrants. Ooooh, scandalous.

--We need a Mission Impossible 4 as much as we need another Saw.

--Really Lakers? No Kobe. No Bynum. In Utah against a hot Jazz team and win by 15?!

--I caught about half of this season of Friday Night Lights online, but may as well wait until NBC finally starts showing this spring. Obviously it’s a great show, but I think it’s wise of the show to turn out the lights after next season. It’s always a dilemma for a high school show when characters graduate, but they’ve handled it about as well as can be expected. I think NBC’s treatment of FNL is much more indicative of NBC’s ineptness than the Leno/Conan debacle.

--Parks and Rec wins any Most Improved Show award and hopefully that’s the last we’ll see of Aubrey Plaza’s boyfriends. They are absolute ball stoppers on the show. Andy Samberg guest starring coming up should be nice.

--There ya go Office. I knew you had a good episode in you. I can even deal with Jim and Pam II with Andy and Erin.

--Writing of the Thursday lineup I highly recommend these NBC show Valentine’s cards although they could have had some from Friday Night Lights. Senor Chang’s and Abed and Troy’s are my personal favorites.

And if you want to go the Lost route, this site has you covered. Jack’s to Kate is very strong and has the best P.S. line possible.

--The Just STFU Award goes to Roy Williams for this:
"Our massage therapist told me, 'You know, coach, what happened in Haiti is a catastrophe. What you're having is a disappointment,' " said Williams. "I told her that depends on what chair you're sitting in. It does feel like a catastrophe to me, because it is my life."

Dear Roy,

Just STFU.

Signed,

Everybody

--I hope NBC puts the Stephen Colbert bits online so I don’t actually have to, you know, actually watch the Winter Olympics for them.

--I think I’d just rather watch the anime Akira again instead of a live-action one. I haven’t watched it in years, but I vaguely remember not knowing what the hell was going on. Of course that may have had something to do with the uh, anime enhancers I was using at the time. And by “enhancers” I mean glasses. Yeah, glasses.

--This is how you sell boxed wine.

--Crack Pie?! I’m in.

Questions, comments or if you’re hoping the Oh, MY! Pocket Pies truck is still parked across the street from Huynh when you go by there Friday night…

This was probably the best overall week for NBC's Thursday lineup. 30 Rock is still a pretentious piece of crap, but the Office did finally deliver and Parks and Rec has always been solid IMO, but definitely hitting their stride. Community is just awesome.

  2. Agreed on best Thursday overall. I didn't like Leslie on Parks last year. It was like a bad Michael Scott impersonation. Not this season though. Loved Abed not remembering any pop culture references

Abed's alcohol fueld amnesia was freaking great.

  5. Have you caught Archer on FX? I'm not sure if you're into Adult Swim type stuff but it's pretty great. Made by the same dudes that did Sealab and Frisky Dingo...

    uh, that is all.

  6. I watched the first couple and have the rest recorded since it's one of a hundred shows on Thursdays. Good stuff and when it hits home runs they're absolute moon shots
