Scoped him with my scopes he had no hair. Launched that shot and he was caught out there.

Quick Hitters and Random Thoughts

--Isn’t it fun watching these teams with first or second-year head coaches not only have success, but have great relationships with players, have creative ways to use their talent and not repeatedly try the same doomed plays? Where do we get one of those coaches?

--At least this week the Texans aren’t facing the league’s leading rusher this week and the guy who just became the first RB to gain 100 yards on the ground against the Ravens in 39 games. Oh wait…

--There are few things in life that make you feel more helpless than when watching the Cougars try and stop the run.

--Usually I’m not one for hyperbole, but Eva Amurri might be the greatest actress of our generation. Her opening scene this week displayed depth, emotion, vulnerability yet empowerment, sensitivity yet hardness, flexibility and perhaps most importantly boobs generosity. Yes, two big heaping helpings of NSFW generosity.

--Rod Blagojevich on Celebrity Apprentice?!

--If you're keeping score at home the Fine Living Network will become The Cooking Channel next year.

--Good read on the life and times of Rumeal Robinson since he knocked down those free throws twenty years ago. Spoiler Alert: It doesn't end well. Maybe it had something to do with him buying things like a $10,000 M-16 machine gun, but that might just be me. Or maybe it was his fondness for strip clubs as one of his boys explains, "He would go on binges of two whole weeks where he spent $20,000 a night at a strip club. Not only that, but he'd also have a bunch of the strippers come back to his place, get buck-naked, and clean his house for $500 or $1,000 each." Yeah apparently Rumeal not a good guy, but it's not like he got his adoptive mother kicked out of her own home. Oh wait...

--Say what you want about them, I’ll just call them the greatest live band ever. U2 on Wednesday. Life is good.

--I hate you Darren McFadden.

--In What the Hell is Going On News....Padma is pregnant and Christina Hendricks got married.

--How have the Washington Redskins managed to face a winless team going into its respective game each week thus far? Crazy.

--Our Crap Story of the Week comes to us from Florida. There Humiston Park Beach has reopened after being closed due to manatees using the beach as its toilet. Bill Becker on the mile-long stretch of crap, “It was disgusting, but mystifying. It looked like Great Dane poop all along the beach.” Mystifying?

--The Lions have the worst pass defense in the league. Their answer? Sign Petey Faggins. Good luck with that Detroit.

--There is ugly and then there is what the UFL teams are wearing. HDNet wasn’t made for those jerseys which look like bastard jersey children of World Football League and XFL.

--We’ve seen in person just how terrible the Raiders are and yet that sorry excuse for a franchise has more wins than the Titans. Awesome. Kyle Vanden Bosch has as many sacks as the Titans have wins. Awesomer. Saying hello to Titans fans on Monday Night Football here. Awesomest.

--I cannot wait for Friday Night Lights to return…

--Maybe it’s just me, but I think the Trinity Killer has some issues. Now if we can just get away from these stupid romance subplots this may rival the best of Dexter.

--In great news 10 years ago, but not so much now….Tara Reid recently finished up a Playboy shoot. Also there’s a Shauna Sand sex tape.

--Good read on the OG Don Draper written by his girl. His TV girl is on the cover of GQ and she’s as ridiculously beautiful as you’d expect. And of course she's cool as hell.

--I saw Drew Brees and Tom Brady go in the first round in many a draft or early 2nd. And yet it’s Peyton Manning who has started this season with five straight 300-yard games. The record to start a season is six in a row.

--Man I miss To Catch a Predator. And maybe it's just because I've never been in Hollywood, but I find it pretty hard to forgive an old man who thirty years ago drugged and raped a 13-year-old. But that's just me.

--I have two dreams in my life not related to Mad Men. One to own a Dyson hand dryer. Two to own one of these Dyson blade-less Air Multiplier fans.

--I can’t believe I have just three Wire episodes left. I’m gonna miss my boys. Oh and how is Omar not on the same hero level as Harvey Milk? Really, who has done more for gay rights and changing views on homosexuality? I’m not sure Milk even had a code. And we all know a man must have a code.

--There are hard sleepers and then there is this guy from Pittsburgh. A fire broke out at his house about 2:30am last weekend. Initially firefighters couldn’t check for victims because of a partial roof collapse. So after a couple of hours they could finally enter, but they weren’t really quiet so they ended up waking up the homeowner. Jerks. Surprisingly the firefighters said the guy had no idea what was going on. Ya think?

Questions, comments or if you can explain the Tyler Hansbrough/lost dog commercial…

  1. The Polanski thing was awesome. Only thing worse than him is the a-holes defending him.
I have Brady and Welker add in a disappointing Brandon Jacobs and I have a tight hold on last.
I watched the first UFL gamew and was shocked how both uni's looked the same. Both had white helmets and the same pants, but the difference was a grey versus a white jersey. Mindboggling how something so simple got overlooked.
FLN has Three Sheets, great show.

  2. I don't know if you saw what Jamie Foxx said about Polanski, but WWTDD.com had it.
Foxx: “If it had been my daughter who was barely a teenager — my daughter is 15 — Roman Polanski would be missing … period. It wouldn’t even get to the court case. But, that’s me and I wouldn’t want anyone else to follow that because you should let the justice system work it out.”
    Awesome.
I wanted Brady in the 2nd, but he never fell...thank God.
I need to check out Three Sheets.
